Semon, a gourmet shop with history
Back to the 60s, Spain was experiencing big changes, both social and economical. In a moment in which women were considered to be worthy only to take care of the house, Maria Vidal, a brave and entrepreneurial woman, decides to break with the canons of the time. She opened a store in the upper side of Barcelona where consumers could find gourmet products and delicatessen. Thanks to her business mindset and the hard work of a committed team (the Robles brothers included), that small shop became one of the top reference stores of the Catalan gastronomy.

Since then, a lot has happened: we have organized high-end events, both for companies and private. Moreover, our gastronomy has arrived to places all around the Peninsula. The new necessities of our clients, new gastronomic inputs and the entry of new cultures have made us more health and environmentally-conscious.
In 2015 we started a new chapter on Semon’s history. One marked by tenacity, hard work and motivation that are part of Semon’s DNA since its beginnings. We have a team with solid and compromised values, where the service, the respect and the honesty come first. Matching with this philosophy, in 2020 we decided to move to a new concept store just some meters away from the old shop, in the same Plaza Gregorio Tramaturgo. This is a more open place, with natural light, and distributed in a way that the customer can see what we are and do. The minimal decoration in soft tones make the iron, oak wood and marble stand out.
